THE VISION

The Astrolab: Space to Create is a music studio located in northern Rhode Island and operated by artist/producer/educator Avi David. Welcome!

 

Vision:

The Astrolab is a Project Studio - a mixed use space where recording, production and mixing happen in the same room. The concept for the studio is modeled after iconic studios in serene locations that prioritize vibe, creativity, professionalism and workflow for whenever inspiration strikes. This is a SPACE TO CREATE. Artists must feel relaxed and inspired in order to take risks and be vulnerable (this is where the magic happens), so the space is set up to feel both peaceful and energizing.

 

Design:

The Astrolab was designed using precise measurements, math, physics and acoustic treatment for optimal sound with consultation from John Storyk of WSDG (he designed studios for Jimi Hendrix, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Whitney Houston and thousands of others), Lou Clark of Sonic-Space/Berklee, GIK Acoustics and Guitar Center Professional. Studio Monitors have been calibrated using Sonarworks SoundID Reference and ADAM Audio’s A Control Software. All recording equipment is top tier for clean, translatable and emotionally-rich mixes.
